Rajasthan Wildlife Tour: tour overview

Rajasthan is famous for forts, but it is also one of the best places in India for wildlife. This tour links three very different reserves on one easy route from Delhi.

Keoladeo National Park at Bharatpur is a UNESCO World Heritage wetland where hundreds of bird species gather in winter. Ranthambore is India's best-known tiger reserve. Jhalana, on the edge of Jaipur, has one of the highest densities of leopards anywhere.

Between safaris there is still time for Jaipur's Amber Fort and the old city. More Rajasthan routes, from short first trips to the full desert circuit, are on our Rajasthan tours page.

  • Midday: Back to the lodge for lunch and rest.
  • Afternoon: Back into the park for the late light, or a cycle of your own along the main track.
  • Tickets: Park entry about ₹500 (approx. 2026 prices for foreign visitors; Indian citizens pay much less); rickshaw and naturalist about ₹200–300 an hour.
  • Tip: November to February is the best season. Bring binoculars; hire them from the lodge if you don't have any.
