Rajasthan's three best-known cities are each worth two days, and they sit four to six hours apart on good highway. Eight days is the honest minimum to see all three without the trip turning into a series of long drives punctuated by hotel check-ins.
Jaipur gives you Amber Fort and the bazaars. Jodhpur gives you Mehrangarh, which many travellers end up calling the finest fort in India, standing over a genuinely blue old city. Udaipur gives you the lakes, the City Palace and a slower pace to finish on.
We drive the whole route. You book your own hotels, which in these three cities range from three hundred rupees to genuinely spectacular converted palaces — that choice should be yours, not ours.

Nuit : Jaipur
JOUR02Jour 2
Jaipur · Amber Fort and the old city
Nuit : Jaipur
JOUR03Jour 3
Jaipur to Jodhpur via Pushkar
A long but rewarding day, broken at the holy lake of Pushkar.
Matin : Départ de l'hôtel à 8 h.
Drive: Jaipur to Pushkar is about 145 km, 2½–3 hours. Pushkar to Jodhpur is about 190 km, 4 hours.
Midday: The Pushkar ghats and the Brahma temple, about 2 hours, with lunch on a rooftop by the lake.
Evening: Arrive in Jodhpur at about 6 p.m. Dinner facing the lit fort.
Eat: Pushkar is vegetarian and alcohol-free; try malpua in the bazaar.
Tip: At the ghats, decline the 'flower blessing' that ends with a request for a large donation.
Nuit : Jodhpur
JOUR04Jour 4
Jodhpur · Mehrangarh and the blue city
Nuit : Udaipur
JOUR06Jour 6
Udaipur · City Palace and the lakes
Nuit : Udaipur
JOUR07Jour 7
Udaipur · a slower day: Kumbhalgarh, a cooking class or the lake
Your car and driver are yours for the day. Most guests choose one of these three, and some simply rest.
Option 1: Kumbhalgarh: Leave at 8 a.m. for Kumbhalgarh Fort (85 km, about 2 hours), with 36 km of walls, the second-longest in the world after China's Great Wall. Walk the ramparts to Badal Mahal at the top, 2–3 hours. Back by 5 p.m.
Option 2: Ranakpur: The marble Jain temple with 1,444 carved pillars (95 km, about 2½ hours each way), open to visitors from noon.
Option 3: slow day: A morning cooking class in a local home, the vintage car museum, Fateh Sagar Lake and sunset at the Monsoon Palace (Sajjangarh) on the hilltop.
Tickets: Kumbhalgarh about ₹600, Ranakpur about ₹200, Monsoon Palace about ₹300 plus the forest gate fee (approx. 2026 prices for foreign visitors; Indian citizens pay much less).

Tip: Tell your driver your choice the evening before so he can plan the departure time.

Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur Tour: frequently asked questions
You can, and plenty of operators sell it that way, but you would spend most of two of those days in the car. Jodhpur to Udaipur alone is five hours. Eight days gives each city a full day on the ground.
No. We are a driving company — our income is the vehicle and the driver, not commission on rooms. You book what suits your budget. We will happily book on your behalf at the same price we are quoted, with nothing added.
It is on the direct road between Jodhpur and Udaipur and adds about ninety minutes. The carving inside is the reason people remember it. If temples are not your interest, we will drive straight through and get you to Udaipur earlier.
Yes, but honestly it needs two more days. Jodhpur to Jaisalmer is around five and a half hours each way. If the desert matters to you, look at our twelve-day Rajasthan circuit instead of squeezing it into eight.
A sedan for one to three travellers, an SUV for four or five, a tempo traveller for larger groups. All air-conditioned. The vehicle is yours alone for the whole route — we never combine parties.
Roughly 60 to 80 US dollars per person across the eight days for the major forts, palaces and museums. Paid at each gate, not included in our price.
October is one of the better months — the monsoon is finished and it has cooled off. November through February is the peak for good reason. We drive the route year-round, but April to June is genuinely hot.
