Luxury Private Golden Triangle Tour 7 Days: tour overview

The Golden Triangle done slowly, in a better car. Seven days means the itinerary breathes — late starts where you want them, an afternoon that is genuinely free, and the monuments timed for the hours when the light is worth the early alarm.

The premium here is the vehicle and the driving, not the hotel. You travel in an Innova Crysta or equivalent — more room, quieter, better on a long day — with the same driver for the whole week rather than a handover in each city. Fuel, tolls, state and interstate taxes, parking and route permits are all paid.

Hotels are yours to choose. We are happy to book heritage and palace properties for you at additional cost, and we will tell you honestly which rooms are worth asking for, because we have stayed in them. But you are not paying us a markup on a room unless you want to.

What is not included — hotels, meals, guides, monument tickets — is deliberate. Most travellers want to choose their own rooms and eat where they like, and paying an agency to book a hotel you could book yourself is money wasted. If you would rather we arranged all of it, we will. Ask when you enquire and we will quote it alongside the itinerary.

We are a family business and we have been driving these roads for thirty years.

If you are weighing up routes, every India journey we run is listed on the India tours page, and the way our car-and-driver pricing works is explained on private car and driver in India.

Luxury Private Golden Triangle Tour 7 Days at a glance

  • Length: 7 days by private car, with the same English-speaking driver throughout.
  • Price: the Luxury Private Golden Triangle Tour 7 Days starts from $623 for the whole car, not per person.
  • Route: Day 1 of the Luxury Private Golden Triangle Tour 7 Days: Arrive in Delhi · your heritage hotel. Last day: Jaipur to Delhi.
  • Flexible: every day of the Luxury Private Golden Triangle Tour 7 Days itinerary can be changed, shortened or extended.

What makes this a luxury private Golden Triangle tour

The route is the classic Delhi, Agra and Jaipur circuit, but the pace and the hotels are different. This luxury private Golden Triangle tour gives you seven days instead of the usual five or six, so there is a slow day in Agra after the sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, and time to enjoy the hotels rather than just sleep in them.

We suggest palace and heritage hotels, or the best five-star hotels in each city, and include them in one price. You travel in a premium private car with an experienced English-speaking driver, and we can add licensed private guides at every major monument.

Who the luxury private Golden Triangle tour suits

It suits honeymooners, couples celebrating an anniversary, older travellers who value comfort, and anyone who wants India without the rush. Each driving day is short and broken by stops, and the extra day in Agra means you are never up early two days in a row.

Ideas to add to a luxury private Golden Triangle tour

  • A private evening at Mehtab Bagh, across the river, to watch the Taj at sunset.
  • A cooking session with a family in Jaipur.
  • A hot-air balloon flight over Jaipur's forts in season.
  • Two nights at a luxury safari lodge in Ranthambore.

Best time to travel

October to March has the best weather. The finest hotels fill early for December and around the New Year, so it pays to book this luxury private Golden Triangle tour a few months ahead.

Questions about the luxury private Golden Triangle tour

How long is the luxury private Golden Triangle tour? Seven days and six nights: two nights in Delhi, two in Agra and two in Jaipur. We can shorten or extend the luxury private Golden Triangle tour to fit your flights.

What is included in the luxury private Golden Triangle tour? The premium car and driver for every day, fuel, tolls, parking, state taxes, the driver's accommodation and airport transfers. Hotels and guides are added at the level you choose, so the luxury private Golden Triangle tour price is clear before you book.

  • Tickets: Fatehpur Sikri about ₹610 (approx. 2026 prices for foreign visitors; Indian citizens pay much less).
  • Overnight: Jaipur
DAY06Day 06

Jaipur · Amber Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal

A full day in the Pink City, planned to beat the heat and the queues: the hill fort first thing, the old city in the middle of the day, and the bazaars when the light softens.

  • 8:00 a.m.: Amber Fort as the gates open, before the tour buses. Allow 2–2½ hours for the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), the Ganesh Pol gate and the zenana courtyards. A licensed guide is worth hiring here.
  • On the way down: Panna Meena ka Kund, a geometric stepwell 5 minutes from the fort, and a photo stop at Jal Mahal, the palace in the lake.
  • Midday: The City Palace (still home to the royal family) and next door Jantar Mantar, the 18th-century astronomical observatory, now a UNESCO site. About 2½ hours for both.
  • Afternoon: The Hawa Mahal, the 'Palace of the Winds', best seen from the cafés on the rooftop opposite; go inside if you want to look out through the latticed windows.

  • Overnight: Jaipur
DAY07Day 07

A last relaxed morning in Jaipur, then the expressway back to Delhi for your hotel or flight.

  • Morning: Free for last shopping, the Albert Hall Museum or Galta Ji, the 'monkey temple' in the hills.

  • Eat: Lunch on the road at a highway food plaza.

Luxury Private Golden Triangle Tour 7 Days: frequently asked questions

Real questions our travellers ask before they book, answered by the family who drives these routes.

The vehicle and the pacing, which is what we control. You get our best car with more room, longer at each city, and an itinerary built around your timings rather than a fixed schedule. We do not include hotels on any tour, so the luxury of the accommodation is entirely your choice — and we will happily book heritage palace properties at cost if you want them.

Honest answer: the driving. A larger, newer vehicle, an experienced senior driver, no rushing, airport meet-and-greet, and complete flexibility on daily timings. We take no commission on rooms, so bundling an expensive hotel into our price would only add a markup you do not need to pay.

No. We are a driving company — our income is the vehicle and the driver, not commission on hotel rooms. You book the hotels you actually want at your own budget. If you would rather we booked them, we will, at the price we are quoted and with nothing added.

The private air-conditioned vehicle for the whole route, your driver every day, all fuel, every road toll and interstate tax, parking at each stop, any route permits, and the driver's own meals and accommodation. Nothing else.

Yes — it closes to tourists every Friday for prayers. Agra Fort stays open. If your dates land on a Friday we will reorder the itinerary so you do not lose the Taj, and we will tell you before you book, not after.

Yes. One vehicle and one driver stay with you from the first day to the last. We never combine parties or hand you between drivers.

The Taj Mahal is currently around 1,300 rupees for foreign visitors including the mausoleum, Agra Fort and the Jaipur monuments are less. Across a Golden Triangle trip, budget roughly 40 to 60 US dollars per person. All paid at the gate.

Not in the price. Guides are licensed and hired at each monument, usually 1,500 to 2,500 rupees. Our driver will take you to the official guide desk rather than to a tout, and we will pre-arrange a guide if you ask us to.

October to March. April and May are very hot across all three cities and June before the monsoon is worse. February and March are our own favourite weeks on this route.
