Nepal Wildlife Safari Tour 9 Days — Chitwan, Pokhara & Kathmandu
Chitwan, Pokhara and the Kathmandu Valley over nine days, with your own vehicle and driver for every kilometre.
Nepal with your own vehicle and driver. Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, the Kali Gandaki gorge and the road north into Mustang. Private, never a group departure, and built around the days you actually have.
We are a family who live between Delhi and Kathmandu, and we have been driving these roads for close to thirty years. Nepal is not a country you see well from a tourist bus — the mountain roads are slow, the good stops are unmarked, and the driver makes the difference.
Chitwan, Pokhara and the Kathmandu Valley over nine days, with your own vehicle and driver for every kilometre.
Ten days across Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan in a private vehicle, at a pace that lets you actually look at the place.

On our road tours the price covers your private vehicle and driver for the whole route, fuel, tolls, road taxes, permits and the driver’s own food and lodging. Hotels, your meals, park entry fees, guides and domestic flights are not included — we will arrange any of them at cost if you would rather not deal with it.
On our treks it works differently. The price includes teahouse accommodation, all meals while trekking, your licensed guide, porter support and the permits, because a trek without those is not a product anyone can use. Domestic flights and city hotels are quoted separately so you can see the real cost.
Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and the old Newar cities of Patan and Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur in particular still works as a living town rather than a museum.
Six to seven hours west through river gorges. Phewa Lake, sunrise at Sarangkot, and Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna range standing directly behind the town. See the Luxury Nepal Tour.
Down into the lowland Terai for jeep safari and a canoe on the Rapti. One-horned rhino are common. See the Nepal Wildlife Safari.
North of the Annapurna range into the rain shadow, up the Kali Gandaki gorge to the walled city of Lo Manthang. A restricted area, a 4WD road, and one of the few places in Nepal you can visit during the monsoon. See the Upper Mustang Jeep Tour, or walk it on the 14-day trek.
The birthplace of the Buddha in the southern lowlands, close to the Indian border and a natural stop if you are crossing overland.
Poon Hill, Annapurna Base Camp and Everest Base Camp. We drive you to the trailhead and take over from there.
Tell us where you want to go and how long you have. We reply with a route and a price, usually within 24 hours.
Most nationalities get a visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport or the land borders. Trekking areas need their own permits, and Upper Mustang needs a restricted-area permit costing 500 US dollars per person for ten days, with a minimum of two travellers and a licensed guide. We arrange all of those.
October and November for the clearest mountain views, then March to May. The monsoon runs June to September and hides the Himalaya — except in Upper Mustang, which sits in the rain shadow and stays dry.
Six to seven hours by road through river gorges, or about 25 minutes by air. The drive is genuinely scenic, so we usually suggest driving one way and flying the other.
Yes. Short flights connect Kathmandu with Delhi and Varanasi, and the Sunauli land border lets you include Lumbini on the way through. See our India and Nepal tours.
Yes. The road north of Jomsom is a mountain track that crosses river beds, and a 4WD with a driver who runs it regularly is not optional.
