Tour overview

The Golden Triangle with the one addition most people wish they had made: Ranthambore, India's most reliable tiger park, a half day's drive from Jaipur.

You travel in your own vehicle with your own driver for all eight days, with fuel, tolls, state taxes, parking and route permits paid. The driving is timed so you reach Ranthambore with two full days there — enough for three safari drives, which gives you a real chance rather than one roll of the dice.

One thing to know: park entry and the safari drives themselves are booked separately and are not in this price. Ranthambore permits sell out months ahead, so tell us your dates early and we will arrange the drives for you at cost.

What is not included — hotels, meals, guides, monument tickets — is deliberate. Most travellers want to choose their own rooms and eat where they like, and paying an agency to book a hotel you could book yourself is money wasted. If you would rather we arranged all of it, we will. Ask when you enquire and we will quote it alongside the itinerary.

We are a family business and we have been driving these roads for thirty years.

If you are weighing up routes, every India journey we run is listed on the India tours page, and the way our car-and-driver pricing works is explained on private car and driver in India.

I travelled twice with Go India Nepal. In 2019 for 4 weeks with Babu, together with my 2 adult daughters, and in 2025 2 weeks with Suraj, together with my wife. Both trips were perfect !! Both are safe drivers, speak excellent English, and very respectful to their guests. Highly recommended.

Our time in India was made truly special thanks to our driver, Anil. Just finished our fantastic tour around Rajasthan and Agra with Babu. Our 17 day journey was the first time we travelled with a driver since we have been travelling to quite some places just by ourselves over the last years but thought this modality was the right option in chaotic India. This journey was a great success in many ways;…

Frequently asked questions

Real questions our travellers ask before they book, answered by the family who drives these routes.','goindianepal'); ?>

No, and treat anyone who guarantees one with suspicion. Ranthambore has one of the better sighting rates in India and two or three safaris gives you a fair chance, but it is a wild animal in a large park. You will certainly see deer, crocodiles and a great deal of birdlife.

No. Safaris are run by the forest department in their own vehicles, and cost roughly 2,500 to 4,000 rupees per person per safari depending on zone and vehicle. Private cars cannot enter the park. We drive you to the gate and wait.

As early as possible. Bookings open ninety days ahead and the better zones sell out quickly from October to March. This is the one part of the trip we genuinely urge you not to leave until arrival.

The core zones close from 1 July to 30 September for the monsoon; some buffer zones stay open. If your dates fall in that window we will tell you and suggest an alternative rather than sell you a closed park.

No. We are a driving company — our income is the vehicle and the driver, not commission on hotel rooms. You book the hotels you actually want at your own budget. If you would rather we booked them, we will, at the price we are quoted and with nothing added.

The private air-conditioned vehicle for the whole route, your driver every day, all fuel, every road toll and interstate tax, parking at each stop, any route permits, and the driver's own meals and accommodation. Nothing else.

Yes — it closes to tourists every Friday for prayers. Agra Fort stays open. If your dates land on a Friday we will reorder the itinerary so you do not lose the Taj, and we will tell you before you book, not after.

Yes. One vehicle and one driver stay with you from the first day to the last. We never combine parties or hand you between drivers.

The Taj Mahal is currently around 1,300 rupees for foreign visitors including the mausoleum, Agra Fort and the Jaipur monuments are less. Across a Golden Triangle trip, budget roughly 40 to 60 US dollars per person. All paid at the gate.

Not in the price. Guides are licensed and hired at each monument, usually 1,500 to 2,500 rupees. Our driver will take you to the official guide desk rather than to a tout, and we will pre-arrange a guide if you ask us to.

October to March. April and May are very hot across all three cities and June before the monsoon is worse. February and March are our own favourite weeks on this route.
