India and Nepal share a long open border. Kathmandu to Delhi is a ninety-minute flight; overland, the Sunauli and Kakarbhitta crossings connect northern India to Nepal by road. Either way you are moving between two completely different worlds in hours, not a long-haul flight.
10 to 12 days covers the Golden Triangle plus Kathmandu and Pokhara, at a brisk pace. 14 to 16 days is the comfortable version and the one most people choose. 21 days adds Varanasi, Lumbini or a short trek and stops feeling rushed. There is a full day-by-day route in our 14-day itinerary guide.
India first, Nepal second. You arrive with energy for the harder country and finish in the mountains, which is a gentler way round. Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, then Varanasi if the Ganges matters to you, then fly or cross overland into Nepal for Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan.
The two countries need separate visas. India is normally an e-Visa arranged before travel; Nepal issues visas on arrival for most passports. The thing that catches people out: if you return to India after Nepal, your Indian visa must allow multiple entries.
Your private vehicle and driver in both countries, fuel, tolls, state and road taxes, and permits. Hotels, meals, monument entry, guides, visas and the flight between the two countries are not included — we will arrange any of it at cost, without a markup.

Yes. They share an open border and are connected by short flights and road crossings. Fourteen days is enough for the highlights of both.
Yes. An Indian e-Visa in advance, and a Nepali visa on arrival for most nationalities. Get a multiple-entry Indian visa if you plan to return to India afterwards.
October and November. The monsoon has cleared, the Himalayan views are sharp and northern India is pleasant rather than punishing. February to April is the second window.
Flying is faster and simpler. Going overland through Sunauli lets you include Lumbini and see the border country, at the cost of an extra day.
One vehicle and driver in India, another in Nepal. Cross-border vehicle permits make a single car impractical, and a local driver on each side is better anyway.
